Garden Designer London

Tessa Crichton-Miller is a skilled garden designer, based in East London. What makes her unique is her experience and expertise in both the horticultural and aesthetic aspects of plants and gardens.

Tessa has a solid horticultural background and understanding of organic gardening principles, which inform and inspire her work as a designer.

She is passionate about creating gardens for her clients that use the allure and fascination of plants to create attractive and inviting spaces.

Tessa listens to your initial ideas and requirements and then creates a design that fulfils that vision.

In 2017, Tessa won a design competition for an exhibit at Chelsea Flower Show which she co-created with a colleague. The exhibit, ‘Compost, Energy and Light’, was awarded a silver medal and displayed in the Grand Marquee.

Enhance your life and home with a beautiful, functional and sustainable new garden, sensitively designed to meet your unique ideas and needs.

They who plant a garden plant happiness.”

Chinese proverb

  • How often do you use your garden?

  • When was the last time you actually enjoyed it?

  • Is your garden more of a blight than a blessing?

  • Does your garden meet your practical requirements?

  • Does it complement or clash with the style of your home?

Tessa and her team created a beautiful garden for us. As I write this , I’m sitting on the dreamy bench at the back of the new garden, sipping coffee, and thanking my lucky stars! I really enjoyed the process of choosing a design for the garden. Tessa started by asking me what I was looking for in a garden (my answer: a refuge from the speed and pressure of the working day), how I was hoping to use it (my answer: to chill out, slow down and enjoy the present moment) and what kind of atmosphere I was after (my answer: dreamy, gentle, wildlife friendly). Tessa then went away and came up with three possible designs for me to choose from (and modify a little). After that, the hard landscaping work began which was carried out with speed and professionalism. Finally the planting, again done very professionally and to budget. I really appreciated the fact that I was able to leave all of the project management to Tessa and her team so that all I had to do was look forward to my new garden - which I am now able to enjoy hugely every single day!
